I found another site that has a lot of useful information about making your own diaper cakes. The author is sharing own experience and givving tips and instructions on making two to three tier diaper cake. I really liked some ideas from her that you may not think about if you’re a beginner. “Pampers size 3 have a beautiful design but Pampers size 1 are very plain and boring.”
She also shares the list of ingredients :

- Two packs of diapers, more if you want a big cake
- Baby essentials and small gifts to decorate the cake with and hide in the cake
- Rubber bands in various sizes to hold the diapers in place
- Medium sized hat box for the base – you can also use cardboard or thick poster board, but it’s not as pretty
- Colorful ribbons, bows, and netting (or cellophane) to wrap the cake in
- For two or three tiered cakes, wooden dowels to hold each tier in place
